Studies Find Role Models Inspire Women To Achieve Educational and Career Success
SAN DIEGO — Really, does the world need another awards program? For women striving for success after overcoming domestic violence, addiction, mental illness and homelessness, the answer is yes.
In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, Leap to Success launches its new “I Leap Award” to recognize bold women in the San Diego region whose achievements can help inspire other women to break through barriers and take courageous action.
“Role models aren’t typically people whose stories make it into the news,” said Dana Bristol-Smith, Founder and Executive Director of Leap To Success. “Or perhaps they are prominent figures, but no one knows how they took their first brave steps and made the eventual ‘leap’ which started them down the road to the success we see and admire today.
“I Leap Award” Honors Women Who Have Broken Barriers and Overcome Adversity
We invite you to think of someone who has impacted your life and our community who you would like to see considered for this prestigious award. Help us find and recognize extraordinary women from your organization, faith community, neighborhood or family.
