We are thrilled to welcome Patti Stanford, Community Employment Manager of Goodwill Industries San Diego, to our Board of Directors! One of Patti’s favorite sayings is People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. Patti has been caring for people by helping them learn the skills they need to obtain meaningful employment for 20 years. She has done this in the education, public and nonprofit arenas. In 2017, she fulfilled a long-term goal by relocating to San Diego from the Carolinas to work with Goodwill Industries. As the Community Employment Manager she leads her team to coach the under employed and unemployed job seekers that they serve every day.
Patti has been inspired to see the transformation that Leap to Success brings to the women they serve. Patti has enjoyed bringing her insights to the Employer Panels and in the Community Employment Centers. Patti says, “When Goodwill refers job seekers to Leap to Confidence, we see their increased confidence when they graduate, and their deeper level of self-awareness. Seeing them land a job is very rewarding. It is an honor to be part of someone’s support system as they are growing and achieving their goals.”
In her spare time, Patti enjoys exploring San Diego through hiking, attending the symphony, musicals, plays and anything on the water. She also enjoys improv, learning Spanish and taking classes that help her on her path of lifelong learning.
We are excited to have Patti on our Board of Directors and look forward to being able to serve more women to reach their full potential with Patti’s expertise and support.
