Poem

L stands for light
Lucy is leaping towards the light
She is loving who she is and living her life out loud
Forgiving herself
Healing herself

U stands for uncovering
Uncovering the beauty that is within her
Finding the self that has never been hurt
Unwinding the layers and letting go of what she no longer needs
Like others’ ideas of who she is and who she can be
By listening to the guidance of her inner voice
She now understands who she is meant to be

C stands for compassion
Compassion, kindness, and forgiveness she is learning
for herself and those who have hurt her
Clearing out the shame, the blame, the hurt and the pain
Calling out her true self
Opening her heart to love
Loving herself just as she is, not trying to be perfect

Y stands for you,
Lucy is you
Lucy is yearning
Lucy is learning
Coming out of the dark
Lucy is leaping towards the light
Showing us the way
Lucy is you
Lucy is me
Lucy is free
