We all love stories about a champion or heroine who has overcome adversity to rise above, don’t we? Often times these incredible stories focus on the inspiring end results but often miss the daily challenges that were overcome by said heroine. If we don’t see any of the daily challenges it’s difficult to celebrate the tiny daily wins that helped her to “Arrive.”
Creating a practice of celebrating your tiny daily wins is a perfect exercise to implement in your financial life. I’ve found that most women (myself included) have been raised in a “negative money” or “neutral money” environment. Growing up we may have heard not-so-positive money conversations from our parents; combine that with a lack of financial education in school and a few slip ups as an adult and you get a recipe for financial cluelessness or worse financial disaster!
Our past money experiences accumulate to bring us our current money results. The best part is, if we want new money results we can begin to create new “positive money experiences” through tiny daily wins, small steps in the right direction.
The first step to creating new daily wins around money is the practice of defining your financial future, on your terms! This first step is so much fun because this is where you get to dream!
So go ahead…ask yourself…What do you want to create in your life? Where do you want to go? What do you want to see? And accomplish? How do you want to contribute? Leave a legacy?
As you get clear about what you want to experience in your life you will be motivated to create and commit to a financial system that will help you accomplish those dreams. After all, if you don’t know where you want to go, you’ll never know when you arrive! Once you know where you want to go it’s possible to create a road map to get there. This becomes a foundation you can build on, and that’s a tiny win you can celebrate!
