A couple of months ago, I met an extraordinary man named Daniel Beaty. When Daniel was a young boy in 3rd grade he heard Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech and was so inspired that he decided to write his own speech. Today, Daniel is an award winning playwright, actor, poet and more.

As an internationally-renowned vocalist and star of stage and screen, Paul Robeson was one of the best known African American artists in the world in the early 20th century. Through his singing and acting talent, he became enormously popular and wealthy; but as a champion for human rights, he became despised by his people and his country.
