Frequently Asked Questions

1. What services do you provide?
Empowerment and leadership programs for women who are rebuilding their lives from domestic violence, homelessness, and other major life challenges.

2. Who is eligible for your services?
Women who are rebuilding their confidence after adversity and who meet the criteria on our Readiness Checklist. They also may be receiving services from our community partners or they can be self-referred .

3. Where do you provide your programs?
Programs are currently delivered online on Zoom and less frequently in person in the San Diego area.

4. How is the Leap to Success’ approach different than other organizations?
Historically, the response to addressing the issue of domestic violence and other trauma has been crisis management oriented. Emergency shelters and services, transitional housing programs, counseling, and case management exist to help, but after the crisis, there is little support and focus to move people into self-sufficiency.

5. Do you charge for your programs?
No. Our current programs are available at no cost to the women who meet our Readiness Checklist.

6. Can I visit your classes?
Because of confidentiality, we do not allow visitors to our programs. Our supporters and partners are invited to attend graduation ceremonies.

7. What is the time limit of your support services?
We have a saying at Leap to Success that we hate to say goodbye—so we don’t! We encourage our graduates to be part of our ongoing supportive community by attending Empowerment Circles, which are group sessions offered twice a week, with no end date! Each session has a mix of participants, from women who graduated recently, to women who graduated five years ago! We love that they come back and share their growth, successes, and challenges.

8. Do you offer your programs outside of San Diego?
We are so glad you asked! We now offer a Trainer Certification program and train and license others to use our Leap to Confidence curriculum with women in their locations across the country.

9. How can I support your work?
There are many ways to help Leap to Success! We welcome donations of any monetary amount, and you can access our secure portal here:

When a woman walks through our doors, she comes bearing a story of survival, strength, and quiet courage. Camie, a 39-year-old single mother and survivor of domestic abuse, found herself at a crossroads. She signed up for Leap to Confidence, unsure of what came next, but she was determined to find out. The program gave Camie purpose and space to reflect, to dig deep, and to begin again.

Camie shares, “This program is like a breath of fresh air when you didn’t know you needed it. It’s like oxygen when you didn’t know you were short of breath. I’m getting to know myself, accepting what I’ve been through. I know I’m gonna be okay. I can be a confident woman who’s gonna be successful. Every week I feel a little bit stronger.”

Many of the women we serve are survivors of domestic abuse. So, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a handful of our generous donors have established a matching empowerment fund of $50,000 to raise money to EMPOWER 100 WOMEN on the next part of their healing journey.

Together, we're not just raising awareness. We're rebuilding a woman's belief in herself. Thank you for standing with us, walking beside survivors, and inspiring them to chase after their greatest potential. To empower women like Camie, click here: givebutter.com/100women
